Write Ups: Operating Systems~Evaluate two operating systems..

 Question: Evaluate two operating systems

Answer:
Let us evaluate the two different operating systems Microsoft windows and apple Mac by comparing/contrasting between the two.
Every windows machine takes around 3-5 minutes to start up or reboot where as every Mac machine takes around 15-17 seconds to start up or reboot. Hence we can say that the Mac system starts faster and also load all the installed application automatically as soon as the system starts up, where as in windows only when the user requests or clicks on a particular application then only it loads up to open. So in Mac machine all the application are preloaded as soon as the system reboots, hence user can use any of the installed applications without waiting for it to load.
When we talk about the size of the operating again windows OS needs a space of 5GB for installation where as Mac OS needs a space of around 2GB. When we look at the installation and un- installation of OS, then definitely windows takes more time to format and reinstall when compared to Mac OS. But when we look at the accessibility perspective then windows is very much better than Mac.
Windows is compatible with all the applications say when we talk about compatibility and application support then windows is very much better than Mac systems. Hence windows OS has a very high legacy application support.
When we talk about the audio part, then definitely both Windows and Mac OS will be compared equally in audio playback. Hence the audio output quality of both the OS are same. But definitely the video quality and video playback is excellent in windows OS when compared to Mac OS.
Windows support almost all the software’s mainly audio editing software’s, video editing software’s, all kinds of antivirus, also all kinds of audio and video players etc. Hence the windows OS is always compatible with the latest application may be any business application or commercially used applications, or any personal use applications.
The user interface and user friendliness is very high in windows OS when compared to Mac OS. Hence any new user will be able to use windows application without much guidance when compared to Mac OS.
The software updates are usually with respect to technology. Hence the updates in windows OS software in much more than the updates coming up for Mac OS. This might be one of the drawbacks to windows since users have to upgrade to new version by paying extra amount to enjoy new features always.
Finally let us talk about the picture quality. Picture quality in both the OS when imported from some other device or when downloaded from web remains the same. Hence the quality of the image remains the same in both the OS.

Think and Answer Assignments: Minicase IV Household Wireless page....

Q)Your sister is building a new two story house which measures 50 feet long by 30 feet wide and wants to network her family’s three computers together. She and her husband are both consultants and work out of their home in the evenings and a few days a month.  Each has a separate office with a computer, plus a laptop from the office that they occasionally use. The kids also have a computer in their playroom. They have several options for networking their home:

a) Wire the two offices and playroom with Ethernet cat5e and put in a 100Base-T switch.

b) Install one Wi-Fi access point ($85) and put Wi-Fi cards in the three computers (the laptops already have Wi-Fi)

c) Any combination of these options

There are many possible solutions to this problem.  What would you recommend, considering their current hardware configuration as well as potential expansion? Justify your recommendation.

Sol:

The best possible solution is to go for installation of Wi-Fi access points followed by installation of Wi-Fi cards for the desktop computers. Anyways laptops will definitely have Wi-Fi inbuilt so there is no need for separate installation of the cards in laptops. The reason behind this is looking at the future definitely the desktops are getting replaced by laptops. Also laptops are portable, which means we can carry them any where we need but if they are connected to some network cables then we will not be able to access the network wherever we carry the laptops. Also in case of desktops if we place it in 1st floor but tomorrow we need it in the last floor then there is need to work on the network connectivity in it only labor is involved in shifting but network connectivity is always there since it is independent of the location within the office campus or two story house limits. Hence the recommendation here is to go for Wi-Fi connection.

Read and Answer: Passive acoustic techniques to study sound producing fish species...

1) Passive acoustic techniques to study sound producing fish species
A wide variety of taxa fish produce sound. The behavior of Sound production gives an opportunity to study and analyze various aspects of fish biology, such as habitat selection and spawning behavior, in a very non-invasive manner. Passive acoustics is an active area of research called ichthyologic research. However, fish bio-acousticians have not published their research details in the fisheries literature. Therefore, fisheries scientists may not be aware of progress being made in this field completely or the potential uses for acoustic techniques passively. The physiological, behavioral and evolutionary aspects of sound production by fishes generally investigate the patterns of research publication on sound production by the fish and also review the literature which is based on the passive acoustic methods application to the research of fisheries and finally predicts and tells different ways of passive acoustic surveys which is being designed to optimize the quality and quantity of information obtained. Passive acoustic methods can be definitely attractive as well as alternative or it may supplement to the other traditional fisheries based on assessment techniques since they are non-invasive, and also can be conducted at low cost, which covers a large study area at temporal resolution and high spatial.

Questions:
a) Name the fish which produces sound?
b) Which are the three aspects of sound production?
c) Which acoustic method can be attractive?
d) What can be the Passive acoustic methods?
Sol:

  1. Taxa
  2. Physiological, behavioral and evolutionary aspects.
  3. Passive acoustic method.
  4. non-invasive

Write-Ups Assignment Help: JIT logistics/supply chain management for what...

Q) JIT logistics/supply chain management for what (now defunct) America automaker.

Sol:
JUST-IN-TIME LOGISTICS SUPPORT IS USED FOR THE AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY since JIT drastically reduces the investment as well as also the total cost of the operation. In the early 1970s the United States automobile industry realized that the advantage of adopting the JIT would bring the US automakers where they were carrying $775 worth of the work in the process inventory for each of the car they built, but the Japanese carried only $150 of the amount. The only very existence of the Unites states auto industry which depended on the adopting of the JIT philosophy. Very efficient way of transportation methods were one of the critical to the effective JIT process.
Key issues of the transportation before the JIT include plant locations, were the role of the transportation along with the deregulation as well as the transportation regulation. The placement of the plants also changed as a solution of the implementation of the JIT.

Write-Ups: How do roles simplify database administration with regard to privileges?

Managing privileges can be very confusing if not planned and implemented in an organized manner.
How do roles simplify database administration with regard to privileges?

I would like the answer about 200 words.

Sol:
Managing privileges is not an easy job in an enterprise database. There of thousands of privileges which are being used. Hence Users cannot be assigned and managed with privileges, so we go for something called roles. A set of privileges are assigned to a role. This role is then assigned to users. Each and every user must have a role for accessing any resources in a database.
A role definitely simplifies the work of database administration when compared to privileges. Managing a role is very much easy when compared to managing a privilege. Once the set of privileges are assigned to one particular role the role assigned to the user can be performed within the limits of the assigned privileges.
Let us take an example where the role1 is assigned to the user1 with privileges of insert, update, select and create. Here the user1 has got privileges of inserting the data to a table or updating the data or else just for selecting any table or data or create tables. We can call this as user privileges, since the delete privilege is not given to user. It’s mainly for admin use. Hence user will not be able to delete the data or table but he/she will be able to create a table, update a table or else insert data.
In this manner the set of privileges perform together in the form of a role, which is assigned to users to perform their activity. Hence role simplifies the task of DBA when compared to privileges.

General Write Up Concepts

=================================================================
"No word Count

my sample organization is Le Mode Magazine

An important factor that influences how to implement an operating model is the level of maturity of the organization. The stages of maturity that have been identified in the textbook are:

•Business Silos Architecture – At this level of maturity, an organization is focused at the component level. The core activities or objectives are designed to support the one component without consideration of what the other components of the organization might be doing.

•Standardized Technology Architecture – At this stage of maturity, the organization is moving toward integration by consolidating the technology purchases at the enterprise level. For example, the organization may require all of the component businesses to purchase Windows and Cisco technology as the platform they use to support their work.

•Optimized Core Architecture – At this stage of maturity, the organization has begun to expand the commonality between their component businesses by integrating not only the technology that support them, but also the applications and data that are needed to run these businesses. For example, rather than having each component business do its own purchasing or create its own payroll, these activities are conducted using a common application and a central database.

•Business Modularity Architecture – This stage of maturity is difficult to achieve, and few organizations have managed to fully achieve it. This is the most mature stage. At this stage, an organization has become so standardized, and their components so integrated, that it is possible to add a new component (purchasing a new hospital, for example) and very quickly implement the technologies and processes that are used to manage the existing business components.

•Dynamic Venturing – This particular operating model is still, for the most part, conceptual in nature. The textbook does not cover dynamic venturing until far into the book. To reach this level of maturity, an organization must have achieved all of the objectives of the foundation for execution and the operating model. At this stage, it would be possible to grow the organization rapidly; acquiring or merging with existing businesses and dropping highly integrated and standardized technology, procedures, and processes into place, without effort or loss of productivity. The textbook describes some organizations that are theoretically reaching towards this stage of maturity.
This week, you are asked to consider the business that you have selected for your project and evaluate its stage of maturity. You will also be asked to support your choice by providing insight into why you think this is the level of maturity that exists for the organization.

Use the information provided in your sample organization (or, if you are using the project option, comparable information from the organization you chose) to examine and identify its current level of maturity. Write a short paper in which you do the following:

•Describe the current level of architecture maturity for the selected organization.

•Explain a set of recommendations for achieving greater maturity that addresses IT capabilities.
•Explain a set of recommendations for achieving greater maturity that addresses business objectives.

•Explains a set of recommendations for achieving greater maturity that addresses funding priorities.

•Explain a set of recommendations for achieving greater maturity that addresses key management capabilities.

•Explain a set of recommendations for achieving greater maturity that addresses responsibilities for defining applications.

•Explain a set of recommendations for achieving greater maturity that addresses IT governance issues.

•Explain your rationale for the stated recommendations.

•Follow APA style and formatting guidelines for references and citations, and create a document that is clearly written and free of grammatical " "
